Baseball Profile - RON SHANDLER
Baseball Forecaster / Baseball HQ

Ron is the publisher of BaseballHQ.com and the author of the long-running annual Baseball Forecaster book, which has been in publication since 1986. A fantasy leaguer since 1985 and a simulation gamer since 1971, Ron was the first author to develop sabermetric applications for fantasy league play. His research involving strand rates, Pure Quality Starts and the LIMA Plan has become a part of the everyday vernacular of many in the industry today.

Ron is one of the founding participants in the national experts competitions, LABR and Tout Wars, and has won four titles and claimed two second place finishes since 1998, a track record unmatched by any other industry expert. His 1998 victories in both the AL and NL Tout Wars leagues represent the only dual championships ever achieved in the history of experts league play.

Ron has been a member of the Society for American Baseball Research since 1985 and is a corporate member of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. He has an MBA from Hofstra University, is a professional direct marketer and forecasting analyst by trade, and in his former life, held senior management positions with several international publishers. He lives in Roanoke, VA, with his wife and two daughters.

Ron has recently been hired by the St. Louis Cardinals as a consultant.  Check out Brian Walton's interview with Ron.  Click here.

Editor's note - check Ron's website at http://www.baseballhq.com, and I can recommend his products without reservation. I personally bought all his books in St. Louis this weekend, at the First Pitch Forum.  NOTE ON THE NOTE - this is not a paid ad, Ron's the best at what he does, that's the bottom line.

I think you can only add one note to a note, so I'm done here.
